FAQ's

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS  

 

The following forms must be completed prior to admission and should be updated regularly.

 

- Your child’s Birth Certificate or Passport, or some official documentation showing your child’s proof of age.

- Your child’s medical/physical form — all medical forms must be on file in our program office before your child's first day in our program.

- Immunization Records ~ This is also a DCF/Department of Health Requirement.

 

*Children may be accepted only after a personal interview with the Director and after 1 week trial period with the child.*

   
Application Fee

Is non-refundable and required with your application. This does not guarantee a spot in our program.

Also each child is required to have student accident insurance due at time of enrollment and on every January.

  
Hours
Full-Day schedule is from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Half-Day schedule is from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m.
Extended Hours are available at an additional cost (24/7 care).
Program Hours are from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 

How long have you been in business? 2 years, but we have 25+ years experience. We also volunteer at our church’s nursery.

How many children do you provide service for at one time? We could have anywhere between 4 to 10 children maximum at anytime.

How flexible are you with pickup and drop-off times? We work with parents.

Is there a late-pickup fee? Yes, if the parent is habitually late. Normally no and we work with the parents.

How and when would you bill me? Tuition is due weekly- every Friday at the time of dropping the child off to our program.

What other supplies would I need to bring for my child? Diapers, extra clothing, towels, baby bottles, etc.

Do you encourage visits from parents? Yes. 

What do you expect from me as a parent? Communication, respect, partnership, responsible- just be a parent.

How do you communicate with parents? Will you give me a daily report or is there another process for informing parents of what children did during the day (naps, bottles, BMs, etc.)? All parents get a communication book to take home every day.

Can I bring my child in for a pre-enrollment visit? Yes.

Do you have any formal early childhood development or childcare training? Actually I am getting a 2nd AA in this field. I also have some training in this field. I currently have a BA in Applied Behavioral Science. I have also completed the mandatory 40 hrs required by the state.

Why do you work with children? What do you like most about caring for them? What do you like least about it? I love to see them blossom into the person they are going to be. Children need as many positive role models as possible. The thing I like the least- is a non cooperative, non-caring, negative, neglectful parent.

How do you discipline children? Redirection and positive reinforcement is what we use to discipline.

How do you comfort children? TLC, if you don't like us to hug your child, than we are not a good match for you.

Do you have emergency training? CPR: Yes  First aid: Yes

Are your toys and activities age-appropriate? Yes.

Do you have a comfortable, childproofed indoor play area where children can safely explore and develop physical skills? Yes.

Do you take the children on walks through the neighborhood? We do outdoor exploration on our private road and our property.

What will my child be doing on any given day? May I see the daily schedule/routine? Visit our schedule tab.

Must children be immunized in order to be at your home? YES!!! They also need the current Phsyical form on file with us.

What is your sick-child policy? If the child is sick, other arrangements must be made.

Do you allow smoking in the house?  This is a non-smoking home.

Do caregivers wash their hands after changing diapers and before feeding the children? Yes.

Are older children taught to wash their hands after using the potty? Yes, all children.

Are indoor and outdoor play areas childproofed and escape-proof? Yes.

Are the doors secure so strangers can't just walk in? Yes.

What is your release policy? Who may pick up my child? Whomever you put on the application would be the person allowed to pick up your child.

Do you have procedures for handling fires, earthquakes, intruders, and other emergencies? Are you and any assistants trained for these situations? Yes.

Do you feed babies on demand or on a schedule? It depends on how the parents fee them, normally on a schedule, but it the child is still hunger, we will feed them on their cue.

Where do the children sleep? They have their own sleeping area.

Do you have a nap schedule? Yes, but that is also flexible on the child’s need.

Do you place babies on their back to sleep and follow other safe sleeping practices to reduce the risk of SIDS? Yes, but children at certain age may turn themselves.
